Price relative to world average price

Values higher than 1 mean that the electricity prices in that country are higher than the world average. For example, 1.27 means that prices are 27 percent higher than the world average.

Residential price relative to business price

The average electricity price paid by households relative to the average electricity price paid by businesses. Values higher than 1 mean that households pay more per kWh compared to businesses.

Low / high consumption, residential

The electricity price paid by households that consume 25 percent of the average annual household electricity consumption in that country relative to the electricity price paid by households that consume 300 percent of the average household electricity consumption. Values higher than 1 mean that households that consume less pay more per kWh.

Low / high consumption, business

The electricity price paid by businesses with 30 000 kWh vs 7 500 000 kWh annual electricity consumption. Values higher than 1 mean that small businesses pay more per kWh than large businesses.
